39-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Crash on Broadway Boulevard
TUCSON, AZ (September 28, 2022) – Tuesday evening, Cecilia Nicole Sanchez was killed in a pedestrian accident on Pantano Road.
The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m., near the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Pantano Road.
According to reports, two pedestrians were crossing Pantano Road from west to east. There, the driver of a silver 2013 Toyota Rav4 struck them as they were attempting to turn from eastbound Broadway onto northbound Pantano.
The female driver in her 80s immediately stopped and contacted authorities. Following preliminary duties, officers said she was not impaired at the time.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported a man in his 30s to St. Joseph’s Hospital for further treatment. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 39-year-old Sanchez dead shortly after being transported to a hospital.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
