59-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Moorland Avenue

SANTA ROSA, CA (September 22, 2022) – Monday morning, 59-year-old Casper Helm was killed in a pedestrian crash on Todd Road.

The incident happened around 5:45 a.m., near Moorland Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Helm was reportedly crawling or hunched over the road for unknown reasons. There, an eastbound dump-truck struck Todd. In addition, the driver of a westbound Chevrolet truck struck Helm as well.

First responders arrived at the scene and pronounced 59-year-old Helm, Keller, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
