Motorboat Accident on Colorado River Left Four Injured

GRAND CANYON, AZ (September 19, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, a boat crash on Bedrock Rapid left Ronald Vanderlugt dead.

The incident happened on September 10th around 2:12 p.m. Police received a report involving a motorboat that flipped on the Colorado River.

Grand Canyon National Park Service stated that 67-year-old Vanderlugt died at the scene and four others were injured.

Furthermore, members of the group tried to revive Vanderlugt and performed CPR but were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, the four injured people were transported to South Rim Helibase for further treatment. The cause of the crash is still under active investigation at this time.
