East Bay Bike Party Bicyclists Injured in Hit-and-Run on Alcatraz Avenue [Oakland, CA]
Multiple Hurt in Oakland Bike Party Collision near Shattuck Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (September 16, 2022) – Friday night, two bicyclists attending a Bike Party were injured in a hit-and-run on Alcatraz Avenue.
The incident happened around 8:45 p.m., near Shattuck Avenue on September 9th.
According to reports, a group of bicyclists was riding in the area when a gray sedan drove through the crowd, knocking several riders to the ground. The driver failed to render aid to the victims after the collision and instead fled the scene.
Investigators state that the matter appeared to be a road rage incident. Responding officers arrived at the scene shortly after and treated at least two cyclists for moderate injuries.
At this time, authorities have not identified the driver of the gray sedan. Although, an active investigation is still currently underway.
