1 Killed, 2 Injured in Head-On Collison on Highway 12 [Sonoma County, CA]

Fatal Wrong-Way Accident near Nuns Canyon Road

SONOMA COUNTY, CA (September 12, 2022) – Monday afternoon, one victim was killed and two were injured in a head-on collision on Highway 12.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:34 p.m., just east of Nuns Canyon Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound Mercedes-Benz sedan collided with a westbound Subaru Outback on SR-12.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel pronounced the Subaru driver dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Meanwhile, medical responders transported a 39-year-old male passenger to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for major but non-life-threatening injuries. The Mercedes driver was also taken to the same hospital for serious injuries.
