Barbara Harris Fatally Struck in Red Light Collision on Highway 162 [Butte County, CA]

77-Year-Old Woman Killed in Rollover Crash on Highway 99

BUTTE COUNTY, CA (September 8, 2022) – Monday afternoon, Barbara Harris was fatally struck in a red light collision on Highway 162.

The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m., at the intersection of Highway 162 and Highway 99 on September 5th.

Per reports, a 37-year-old man from Yuba City was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado when he ran through a red light at the intersection. The Chevrolet then collided with the driver’s side of a 2011 Kia, causing Chevrolet to roll over onto its roof.

The impact also pushed the Kia north, causing it to strike two other vehicles waiting at the intersection.

Emergency personnel arrived and found the passenger of the Kia, 77-year-old Harris dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia, a 75-year-old man remained unidentified.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
