Woman Dies in Auto Collision on Highway 99 [Tulare County, CA]
62-Year-Old Woman Dead after Car Crash near Avenue 152
TULARE COUNTY, CA (September 7, 2022) – Sunday morning, one woman was pronounced dead after an auto collision on Highway 99.
The fatal crash happened just after 7:00 a.m., just north of Avenue 152 in Tipton. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
According to reports, a 62-year-old woman let her vehicle drift off the road’s left shoulder and veered in the opposite direction after over-correcting. As a result, the car went into an embankment and through a chain-link fence separating Highway 99 from Thompson Road.
The impact ejected the female driver from the vehicle onto the road, causing life-threatening injuries. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene. However, her identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 40-year-old passenger to Kaweah Health for treatment of unspecified injuries.
At this time, Tulare County Officials continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the Highway 99 car accident.
