Eugene Segura, Wilbert Montenegro, Spencer Thomas, and Shane Rivera Killed in Crash on San Francisquito Canyon Road [Santa Clarita, CA]

4 Dead after Auto Collision near Riverview Road

SANTA CLARITA, CA (August 29, 2022) – Spencer Thomas, Shane Rivera,  Eugene Segura, and Wilbert Montenegro were killed Sunday in a crash on San Francisquito Canyon Road.

Authorities responded to the scene around 4:10 p.m., near Riverview Road.

According to reports, Montenegro made an unsafe turn on San Francisquito Canyon Road while driving his 2019 BMW M5.

At the same time, a northbound blue 1989 GMC Suburban crossed the double yellow lines, hitting the BMW.

Upon arrival, medics pronounced 28-year-old Thomas of Saugus, and 41-year-old Rivera, of Glendale dead at the scene.

Later, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the other two deceased victims as Eugene Segura and 41-year-old Wilbert Montenegro.

Santa Clarita Officials are investigating the fatal incident.
