Matthew Lobos Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on 62nd Street [Los Angeles, CA]]

17-Year-Old Fatally Struck in Intentional Collision near Avalon Boulevard

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 24, 2022) – Matthew Lobos was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 62nd Street, early Sunday morning.

Authorities received dispatch calls in the area around 2:51 a.m., near Avalon Boulevard on August 21st.

Per reports, Lobos was at a large party when he became involved in an argument that continued outside of the event.

Witnesses say the driver of a white sedan then ran over Lobos and struck a utility pole.

Shortly thereafter, a black Maserati SUV ran over Lobos twice before exiting the parking lot. Both involved vehicles then fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.

Medics arrived and pronounced 17-year-old Lobos dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma. Furthermore, Lobos was a student and an incoming senior at Santee High School, and will be deeply missed by his community.
