6-Year-Old Kid Dead in Bicycle Hit-and-Run Collision on Karen Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (August 23, 2022) – Saturday night, Jamall Dupree Anderson Jr. died after being struck by a U-Haul truck on East Karen Avenue.

The incident happened on August 13th, at around 5:19 p.m, near 1750 East Karen Avenue.

According to reports, several children were riding their bicycles on the west side of the street when one of the young riders crossed paths with a passing U-Haul box truck. The collision threw the boy to the ground, where he was run over by the U-Haul truck. The driver allegedly checked on the victim before fleeing the scene.

Responding medics transported the child to Sunrise Hospital’s Trauma Unit, where he died as a result of his injuries. Police later identified the child as 6-year-old Jamall Dupree Anderson Jr. from Las Vegas.

Officers eventually apprehended the hit-and-run driver, 21-year-old Michael Burdick, and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center on hit-and-run charges.
