30-Year-Old Woman Dead after 3-Vehicle Accident near Hughes Avenue

FRESNO, CA (August 22, 2022) – Thursday afternoon, Cynthia Vang was fatally struck in a multi-car crash on Church Avenue.

The incident occurred just after 3:00 p.m., near West and Hughes Avenue. Investigators say a Kia stopped on the westbound lanes of Church Avenue to make a left turn into a residence.

There, a Cadillac Escalade rear-ended the Kia, pushing it directly into the path of a GMC van. As a result, the GMC struck the Kia on its passenger side.

Medics transported 30-year-old Vang, who was a passenger inside the Kia to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center. However, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

In addition, emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
