Pedestrian Hospitalized after Accident near Foothill Road

SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 22, 2022) – Monday night, a pedestrian accident on Highway 154 left one person with injuries.

The incident happened around 10:00 p.m., on the westbound lanes of the highway just south of Foothill Road. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after, on August 15th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a small SUV struck a pedestrian in the area. Upon impact, the victim was stuck underneath the vehicle and had to be extricated.

Medical personnel arrived and transported the pedestrian to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for further treatment. At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.

Crews also closed the westbound lanes of the highway for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
