24-Year-Old Los Angeles Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision near Mile Marker 145
BAKER, CA (August 17, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, 24-year-old Joey Dee Hagedorn was killed in a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 15.
The multi-vehicle accident happened around 5:35 a.m., along the northbound lanes of I-15, near mile marker 145.
According to reports, Hagedorn was driving a 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 sedan with a 38-year-old female passenger at an unsafe speed.
The Mercedes then rear-ended a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia trailer, driven by a 48-year-old man from Moreno Valley, in the third lane. Upon arrival, emergency crews pronounced one man dead at the scene, who was later identified as 24-year-old Hagedorn.
Meanwhile, medics transported a female passenger with severe injuries to University Medical Center.
At this time, officials have not released the woman’s name or current condition, but they have stated that she is pregnant and that the deceased man was her husband.
It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, an active investigation is underway. The CHP officials ask anyone with information about the crash to contact them at (760) 255-5900.
