Daniel John Wetle Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash on Highway 68 [Monterey County, CA]
Man Dead after Head-On Collision near Spreckels Boulevard
MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (August 17, 2022) – Saturday evening, Daniel John Wetle was arrested following a fatal DUI crash on Highway 68.
The incident happened around 6:10 p.m., near Spreckels Boulevard on August 13th.
Per reports, Wetle was driving a westbound black 2022 BMW and crossed the center divider into eastbound lanes. There, the BMW struck an oncoming red 2017 Toyota Camry head-on.
Medics arrived and pronounced the 48-year-old male Camry driver, from Salinas dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported his passenger to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Following preliminary investigations, officers arrested 40-year-old Daniel John Wetle, of Marina for suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
