David Moreno Dead, Alex Maldonado Arrested after Hit-and-Run Accident on Kinney Road [Tucson, AZ]
26-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Crash on Gates Way Road
TUCSON, AZ (April 15, 2022) – Tuesday morning, David Moreno was killed and Alex Maldonado was arrested after a hit-and-run on Kinney Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8:00 a.m., near Gates Way Road.
First responders arrived and located Moreno laying on the road with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle. Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced 26-year-old Moreno dead at the scene.
Investigators say the suspect driver fled the scene without contacting police. Following preliminary investigations, officers said Maldonado was driving the involved Dodge Charger.
As a result, crews located and arrested 21-year-old Alex Maldonado around 11:30 a.m., on August 10th. The driver was charged with failure to remain at the scene of the incident. He is currently being held at the Santa Cruz County Jail.
