66-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Lupine Way
WILLITS, CA (August 15, 2022) – Thursday morning, Cherie Renee Peck was killed in a car accident on Sherwood Road.
The collision happened around 10:20 a.m., near the intersection of Sherwood Road and Lupine Way. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.
According to reports, Peck was driving a southbound 1988 silver Chevrolet Silverado and crossed the double yellow lines on Sherwood Road. The Silverado then continued on the northbound lanes before leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree.
Emergency crews arrived and located the driver, 66-year-old Peck, of Willits dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, California Highway Patrol closed down both lanes of the roadway for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation into the deadly crash is underway.
