56-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Crash near Walnut Avenue
ORANGEVALE, CA (August 12, 2022) – Saturday night, Cynthia Wright was fatally struck in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Greenback Lane.
Police responded to the scene around 10:00 p.m., just west of Walnut Avenue on August 6th.
According to reports, the driver of a Honda Element SC struck Wright as she was walking along the northbound lanes outside of a marked crosswalk. Upon impact, the driver of the vehicle fled from the scene and left debris scattered along the road.
Bystanders tried to help Wright while they waited for emergency responders to arrive. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 56-year-old Wright, dead at the scene.
Afterward, police released a description of the vehicle that struck her. It was described as a dark maroon/brown Honda Element SC.
Meanwhile, the suspect has not yet been arrested. However, anyone who has information about the whereabouts of the described vehicle is encouraged to contact authorities at 916-464-1450 or email tsenter@chp.ca.gov.
