5 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Slauson Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 12, 2022) – Asherey Ryan, Reynold Lester, Alonzo Quintero, Lynette Noble, Nathesha Lewis died in a speeding crash.
Around 1:30 p.m., officers received dispatch calls near the intersection of Slauson and La Brea Avenue.
Per reports, a Mercedes-Benz driven by 37-year-old Nicole Lorraine Linton ran a red light at an extremely high rate of speed. As a result, Linton slammed into six vehicles near a gas station at the intersection.
Upon impact, multiple vehicles became completely engulfed in flames. Footage from the scene shows Linton’s vehicle traveling through the red light at a dangerously high rate of speed.
Medics pronounced 23-year-old Ryan, who was almost 9 months pregnant dead at the scene. In addition, crews pronounced her son, 11-month-old Quintero and her boyfriend, Lester dead.
Moreover, two occupants inside another vehicle that was hit were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later identified them as 42-year-old Lewis and 38-year-old Noble.
Linton sustained injuries and received treatment at UCLA Medical Center. Eventually, authorities took her into custody with charges of vehicular manslaughter and gross negligence.
