40-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle near South Central Avenue

COMPTON, CA (August 11, 2022) – Early Monday morning, a pedestrian crash on 91 Freeway claimed the life of 40-year-old Michelle Yaccuzio.

The incident happened around 12:16 a.m., near Central Avenue. Per reports, a driver contacted authorities stating that they had struck a pedestrian on the westbound lanes of the freeway near South Central Avenue.

Emergency personnel arrived and declared one pedestrian dead at the scene. Compton Officials later identified the deceased victim as 40-year-old Yaccuzio.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Although, police have not yet released their identity.

California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert to shut down all westbound lanes to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. All lanes later reopened around 4:00 a.m.
