One Man, Two Women Dead after Head-On Crash on Santa Fe Drive [Merced, CA]
Three Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision near Franklin Road
MERCED, CA (August 9, 2022) – Sunday morning, three victims were pronounced dead following a head-on crash on Santa Fe Drive.
The accident occurred just before 6:00 a.m., near the intersection of Santa Fe Drive and Franklin Road.
Investigators say the incident involved a Jeep Patriot driven by a 34-year-old man and a 2017 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 38-year-old Turlock woman.
For reasons unknown, one of the vehicles crossed into oncoming lanes and collided head-on with the other car.
The impact of the crash left three people with serious injuries, both the drivers and one 34-year-old female passenger in the Jeep. Emergency personnel arrived shortly after and rendered aid to the severely injured victims.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced all three victims dead at the scene. At this time, authorities have not released the identities of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.
