18-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident near Bard Road
PORT HUENEME, CA (August 3, 2022) – Late Friday afternoon, 18-year-old Matthew Lares was killed in a rollover collision on Ventura Road.
Police responded to the scene around 4:22 p.m., on the southbound lanes of Ventura near Bard Road on July 8th.
For reasons under investigation, a vehicle occupied by Lares collided with another vehicle driven by a woman. Police said one vehicle hit a tree while the other rolled over.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced Lares dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the other involved driver suffered non life-threatening injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.
The loved ones of Matthew Lares set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses during these trying times.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still underway. Once available, more information will be released.
