Two Men Hospitalized after Pedestrian Accident on Mango Drive
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 29, 2022) – Late Saturday night, two people sustained various injuries in an e-bike crash in Del Mar Heights.
The incident occurred around 10:26 p.m., along the 13800 block of Mango Drive at Del Mar Heights Road.
According to officers, a man in his 50s was riding an e-bike and struck an 82-year-old man who was walking east. As per reports, the e-bike rider did not notice the pedestrian since he did not have any lights on his bike.
Responding medics arrived and took the pedestrian and the e-bike rider, who both sustained serious injuries, to a nearby hospital for treatment. Although, authorities currently withheld the names of the injured parties until their next of kin are notified.
At this time, officers are looking into the possibility of speed as a factor in the collision. However, an active investigation is underway.
