3 Dead, 4 Injured after Speeding Collision near Glassell Street

ORANGE, CA (July 22, 2022) Early Saturday morning, a crash on Taft Avenue killed 26- year-old Gustavo Castro and two teenagers.

The collision happened around 2:45 a.m., near Glassell Street on July 9th. Investigators say the incident involved a 2005 Nissan Altima, with seven occupants.

Per reports, the driver of the Nissan was speeding southbound on Glassell Street. Officers tried to catch up with the speeding vehicle, but the driver of the Nissan, 19-year-old Azarie Fuller, lost control.

The vehicle reportedly “hit guardrails and signal lights related to a railroad crossing” and then became engulfed in flames. None occupants of the car were wearing seatbelts.

Medical personnel pronounced Castro and two others dead at the scene. Meanwhile, crews rushed four others to a local hospital for treatment of various injuries.

After the crash, investigators found a nitrous oxide tank and balloon in and around the Nissan. At this point, authorities believe that the occupants of the vehicle were using the nitrous oxide to get high, and that Fuller was driving under the influence.

Anyone with information is to contact the police at 714-744-7444.
