Juan Caraveo Arrested after Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 10 [Goodyear, AZ]
Fiery Traffic Collision near Dysart Road Left One Injured
GOODYEAR, AZ (July 8, 2022) – On Sunday, authorities arrested Juan Caraveo after a fiery hit-and-run crash on Interstate 10.
Police responded to a crash on July 3rd, where the driver of a pickup truck lost control of his vehicle and crashed into two vehicles.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the truck driver spun out across multiple lanes before coming to a stop.
Meanwhile, as a witness helped to push the truck out of the roadway, a gray vehicle struck the rear of the truck.
Consequently, the driver of the pickup truck was ejected onto the roadway and the truck caught fire. Upon arrival, emergency crews worked to extinguish the flames and hospitalized the truck driver for treatment of serious injuries.
Moreover, a large portion of the interstate was temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
The driver of the gray vehicle, later identified as 30-year-old Caraveo, initially fled the scene but turned himself to the Goodyear Police Department the following day.
An active investigation into the crash is underway at this time.
