Traffic Accident on Mooney Boulevard Left Woman Killed

VISALIA, CA (June 30, 2022) – A vehicle crash on Highway 198 claimed the life of Zada Lynn Yaryan, Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened on June 28th around 3:30 p.m., at Mooney Boulevard, involving a Toyota Corolla and a Caltrans truck.

Per initial reports, Yaryan veered off the road and struck the back of the truck that was parked on the shoulder of the highway.

Eventually, responding paramedics arrived and pronounced 79-year-old Yaryan dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Caltrans truck escaped without injury. Due to the wreckage along the roadway, a large portion of the highway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Additionally, Visalia authorities have not released further information regarding the fatal collision along Highway 198. An active investigation is currently underway.
