Yates Brook Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Highway 178 [Bakersfield, CA]
Man Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Democrat Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 27, 2022) – Thursday, police identified Yates Brook as the driver involved in a fatal head-on crash on Highway 178.
The incident occurred near Democrat Road around 6:27 p.m., on June 23rd. The collision involved a 2010 Ford Edge and a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
For reasons unknown, the 64-year-old male motorcyclist veered left and slammed into the Ford. Investigators say Brook was driving the Ford at the time.
Medical personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene, due to the extent of their condition. Although, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
In addition, the Ford driver was later identified as 49-year-old Yates Brooks.
Both lanes on Highway 178 were blocked for investigations for several hours and were reopened at 9:40 p.m. At this time, an active investigation is underway.
