70-Year-Old Victim Killed in Auto Accident near Canon Road
FAIRFIELD, CA (June 27, 2022) – A head-on collision on Vanden Road claimed the life of 70-year-old Gonzalo Torres, Monday evening.
Police responded to the scene near Canon Road, on June 20th. Per reports, the collision involved a Toyota Camry and a vehicle carrier trailer.
Investigators say Torres was driving the Toyota south when he crossed into northbound lanes for reasons unknown. There, the Toyota collided with a vehicle carrier trailer head-on.
Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced Torres dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the car carrier driver was uninjured and stayed at the scene to cooperate.
Both lanes between Canon Road and Leisure Town Road traffic circle in Vacaville were blocked for several hours for investigations. Police are cooperating with witnesses and investigations are still underway.
