Traffic Accident on Highway 118 Left One Fatality, Five Others Injured
MOORPARK, CA (June 16, 2022) – On Tuesday morning, a vehicle crash on Highway 118 claimed the life of Richard W McIver, police said.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Highway 118 at around 9:20 a.m., per initial reports.
Furthermore, the preliminary investigations showed that a pickup and a semi collided near Center School Road for reasons unknown.
Authorities arrived to the scene and pronounced one driver dead at the scene, who was later identified as 76-year-old McIver.
Additionally, Ventura County Fire reported an additional 5 other people sustained minor to moderate injuries from the collision.
As a result, roadways between Highway 118 and Santa Clara Avenue were shut down for more than 12 hours to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
No additional information was disclosed, as further investigations are still underway.
