Hit-and-Run Collision near Del Monte Avenue Claims Life of One Woman
YUBA, CA (May 25, 2022) – An unidentified woman lost her life after a hit-and-run crash on Garden Highway, early Thursday morning.
The incident happened 6:00 a.m. on Garden Highway near Del Monte Avenue.
According to reports, a vehicle was traveling southbound on Garden Highway. Meanwhile, an unidentified woman was walking westbound across the highway.
The driver did not have time to avoid the woman and consequently struck her. The driver also fled the scene and continued southbound on Garden Highway, without rendering aid or calling for authorities.
Medical personnel transported the critically injured woman to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Officials later described the suspect vehicle as a 2-door Honda Coupe sedan, with front-side damage and between model years 2009 to 2012.
Authorities urge anyone with additional information to reach the Police Department at 530-822-4661. At this time, an active investigation is currently underway.
