Driver Strikes 3 Children in Alleged DUI Crash on Keller Avenue
SANTA ANA, CA (May 25, 2022) – 26-year-old Jason Guzman, was arrested and three children were hurt after a pedestrian crash on Keller Avenue.
The incident happened around 8:30 a.m., near Taft Elementary School on Keller Avenue.
Per reports, Guzman was drove his red vehicle into the sidewalk for reasons unknown. There, he struck the three children who were walking in the area.
Responding medics found three students with injuries and rushed them to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials have not released the names of the children, but they stated that the oldest victim is a fifth-grader.
Meanwhile, CHP called the Orange County bomb squad to the scene after they found one incendiary device in Guzman’s vehicle and found three more incendiary devices.
Eventually, CHP took Guzman into their custody and rushed him to a local hospital after he stabbed himself with a knife. Officials suspected that he was under the influence of a drug or alcohol. However, an active investigation is underway.
Santa Ana police will release further details once they become available.
