Gary Knox Dozier Involved, 2 Children Killed in Auto Collision on James Road [Bakersfield, CA]
Two Children Pronounced Dead after Car Crash near Highway 65
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 18, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, Gary Knox Dozier was involved in a crash on James Road that killed two children.
The deadly collision happened around 3:43 p.m., on James Road near Highway 65 and Airport Road.
According to reports, a 14-year-old was driving a westbound white two-door Nissan sedan with passengers aged 9, 10, and 11.
As the Nissan approached a stopped bulldozer on the side of James Road, the bulldozer began to move along into the path of the Nissan.
To avoid the bulldozer, the Nissan driver veered left, but its right side collided with the bulldozer’s bucket.
Eventually, officers arrived and declared the front passenger, age 10, and the right rear passenger, age 11, dead at the scene from their injuries.
Meanwhile, medics rushed the driver, age 14, and the left rear passenger, age 9, to Kern Medical for treatment.
At this time, CHP withheld the names of the children involved. However, crews identified the driver of the bulldozer as 69-year-old Dozier, of Wasco.
Dozier stayed and cooperated with the authorities. At this time, an active investigation is underway.
Furthermore, the loved ones of victims made a GoFundMe page to help with their financial needs during this time.
