Winnetka Avenue Hit-and-Run Leaves One Pedestrian Dead, Driver Arrested
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 18, 2022) – A fatal hit-and-run along Winnetka Avenue claimed the life of 42-year-old Michael Kigozi Saturday evening.
Authorities identified the suspect as 30year-old Gevorg Goerge Gevorgyan.
According to the report, the crash happened around 9:34 p.m. on Saturday at 7600 N. Winnetka Avenue.
Investigators said Gevorgyan drove northbound on Winnetka and hit the man walking along the roadway. Furthermore, authorities said the suspect stopped momentarily before fleeing the scene.
However, Gevorgyan later returned to the scene of the crash where he was eventually arrested.
Moreover, both directions of the roadway temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Los Angeles Officials continue to investigate the incident at this time.
