Haley Storey Killed in Head-On Collision on Nevada 227 [Elko, NV]
Traffic Accident on Lamoille Highway Resulted in Major Casualties
ELKO, NV (May 12, 2022) – Tuesday evening, 27-year-old Haley Storey was killed in a head-on collision on Nevada 227.
The crash happened about 3 miles south of Elko on the Lamoille Highway around 7:15 p.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
Investigators say Storey was driving a 2014 Volkswagen north when she failed to make a right-hand curve and crossed the center line. As a result, the Volkswagen collided with the 2020 Ram 5500 service truck.
The Dodge driver wore a seatbelt and was treated on scene by paramedics. In addition, Storey’s passenger received minor injuries.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced Storey dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities closed the highway but reopened later on. At this time, an active investigation is still underway.
