Man Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on Borchardt Drive [Tulare, CA]

Male Victim Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision on Avenue 54

TULARE, CA (May 4, 2022) – Wednesday morning, an unidentified man was killed in a semi-truck crash on Borchardt Drive.

Officers responded to the incident around 9:20 a.m., in the area of Borchardt Drive and Avenue 54.

For reasons unknown, the truck driver veered onto the gravel shoulder of the roadway on Borchardt. As the driver attempted to correct his steering, the truck spun out of control and ended up in an orchard.

The truck overturned multiple times before ejecting the driver from the truck.

Upon arrival, crews located one driver ejected from his truck in a nearby orchard. Due to the extent of their condition, first responders declared the man dead at the scene.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, Tulare Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
