Suspect Killed in Pursuit Ends in Crash on First Street [San Jose, CA]
Suspect Killed in Traffic Accident on Montague Expressway
SAN JOSE, CA (April 26, 2022) – Early Friday morning, a suspect was pronounced dead after a pursuit collision on First Street.
The incident occurred around 1:19 a.m., near North First Street and Montague Expressway. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
According to reports, officers chased a stolen 2014 Honda CRV when the driver fled the scene southbound on North 1st and drove through a red light at Montague Expressway.
As a result, the Honda struck a white Toyota that was traveling through a green light. There, the suspect crashed into the Montague Square business park and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the other three passengers in his vehicle were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Toyota driver sustained minor injuries and remained in a local hospital.
The identity of the Honda driver will be released by Santa Clarita County Coroner’s Office after notifying the next of kin. At this time, San Jose Officials are still currently investigating the pursuit collision on First Street.
