Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on Nees Avenue [Firebaugh, CA]

One Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision on Oxford Avenue

FIREBAUGH, CA (April 19, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, one person was pronounced dead after a semi-truck accident on Nees Avenue.

The incident happened just east of Oxford Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene on the eastbound side of Nees Avenue shortly after.

Investigators later discovered that an eastbound vehicle veered into the westbound lane for reasons unknown. There, a semi-truck driver swerved right in attempt to avoid colliding. However, the left side of the car hit the semi-truck.

Upon impact, the big-rig overturned and ended up on the right side of the northbound lane. Meanwhile, the car came to rest on the south shoulder.

In addition, the car driver was ejected from the vehicle onto the road. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the vehicle driver died at the scene.

Moreover, the semi-truck driver remained uninjured.

Per the initial investigation, neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the collision. However, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
