Celene Reducindo, Maria Hernandez Dead, Felipe Gonzales Arrested after Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 [Atascadero, CA]

28-Year-Old Pronounced Dead after Speeding Accident near Tennessee Street

ATASCADERO, CA (April 18, 2022) – Saturday night, Celene Reducindo and Maria Hernandez died in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101.

The crash occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m., on April 16th. Crews arrived along the northbound lanes, near Santa Barbara Road.

Per reports, a Chevrolet Cruze with five passengers was traveling northbound on Highway 101 and came to a stop.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Felipe Gonzalez had been driving a Chevrolet Suburban at speeds over 65 miles-per-hour when he lost control of the vehicle. As a result, Gonzalez ended up striking the rear of the parked Cruze, pushing it about 120 feet forward.

Reducindo 47, and Hernandez, 54, who were inside the Cruze, died in the crash. Meanwhile, the other occupants involved were hospitalized for treatment of various injuries.

At this time, the cause of the crash is under investigation with alcohol believed to have been a factor.
