Vehicle Crash on Camp Rock Road Left Two 16-Year-Old Girls Killed

LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (April 14, 2022) – A car crash on Highway 247 claimed the lives of Kristy Klaus and Kayden Davis Friday evening.

According to police, the collision happened around 9:57 p.m., on Highway 247 and Camp Rock Road.

Under unknown circumstances, the driver of a maroon Honda CR-V collided with another vehicle in the area. As a result of the impact, the Honda rolled over on its side nearly 100 feet off the side of the roadway.

Eventually, firefighters and paramedics arrived and declared Kristy Klaus and Kayden Davis, both 16-years-old, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, Klaus’ grandmother driving the Honda, identified as Christy Rees, and the other driver both sustained critical injuries.

Responders transported one of them to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and airlifted the other to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

At this time, Lucerne Valley Officials are still working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
