3 Killed in Auto Collision near Herbert Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 14, 2022) – Friday, Julian Mendes-Guia, Abigail Flores, and Jahmai Flores were killed in a car accident.
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 12:30 a.m., on Olympic Boulevard near Herbert Avenue.
Per reports, the driver of an eastbound 1997 Volkswagen Jetta was on Olympic Boulevard and approached the intersection on Herbert Avenue.
For reasons unknown, the vehicle veered to the right and crashed into a curb and tree before eventually catching on fire.
Shortly after, the driver of a passing big-rig stopped and attempted to put out the flames with the fire extinguisher.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, all three occupants inside the Volkswagen sustained life-threatening injuries and later died at the scene.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office later identified the victims as 21-year-old Julian Mendes-Guia, 19-year-old Abigail Flores, and 18-year-old Jahmai Flores.
At this time, Los Angeles Officials are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact CHP at 323-980-4600. Once available, further details will be provided.
