2 Drivers Killed, 2 Minors Hurt in Wrong-Way Collision on 74 Freeway [Riverside, CA]
Two Dead after Fatal Head-On Crash near Hammock Avenue
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 12, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, two were killed and two minors were hurt in a wrong-way collision on 74 Freeway.
The incident occurred just before 2:30 a.m., near Hammock Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
For reasons unknown, the driver of a Ford Mustang was traveling the wrong way on the highway. As a result, the Ford collided head-on with Kia Forte.
Shortly after the crews arrived, they located both cars with major damage and one occupant trapped inside a red vehicle.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, paramedics took two passengers under the age of 18 from inside the Kia to a local hospital with unknown conditions. At this time, the officers cannot determine the circumstances leading up to the wrong-way collision on 74 Freeway.
