Man Dies in Head-On Accident on State Route 20 [Scotts Valley, CA]
Male Victim Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision on Scotts Valley Road
SCOTTS VALLEY, CA (April 8, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, a man was killed in a head-on accident on State Route 20.
The incident happened around 3:13 p.m., near Scotts Valley Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
Per reports, a male driver was traveling east on Highway 20 in a Chevy Silverado, just east of Scotts Valley Road. There, a westbound black Acura sedan crossed over the double yellow lines for reasons unknown.
As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on. Paramedics immediately responded and discovered the male victim with fatal injuries.
Eventually, an air ambulance transported the female driver of the Acura to an area hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, her passenger suffered only minor wounds.
Following preliminary investigations, crews discovered that all parties were wearing their seat belts.
At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. Additionally, no arrests were made, according to reports.
California Highway Patrol officers are still working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
