1 Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Brookhurst Road
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 5, 2022) – Early Monday morning, a pedestrian was killed in a train crash on Commonwealth Avenue.
Around 6:30 a.m., officers responded to the scene near the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Brookhurst Road.
Police said an Amtrak train with 89 passengers and five crew members hit a male pedestrian. Officers located the lifeless man down on the train overpass on Commonwealth Avenue, between Brookhurst Road and Basque.
Upon impact, the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, due to the extent of their condition.
Meanwhile, authorities closed the surrounding area for several hours while police investigated the scene.
As of the time, police did not release further details about the train crash while they continue the investigation.
