Driver Killed in Vehicle Accident on Highway 190 [Porterville, CA]
Traffic Crash on Plano Street Left One Fatality
PORTERVILLE, CA (April 5, 2022) – Tuesday evening, a vehicle accident on Highway 190 left one driver dead, police said.
According to the police, a driver traveling southbound along Plano Street at Highway 190, reportedly failed to stop at a red light.
Subsequently, the driver entered the intersection and was broadsided by another vehicle going westbound on Highway 190.
Moreover, authorities said the driver who ran past the red light received serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Police only described the victim as a 65-year-old man, as of this time.
At this time, Porterville officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Police are asking anyone with information to contact 559-782-7400.
