Victim Pronounced Dead after 2-Car Accident near Lower Richbar Picnic Area
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 25, 2022) – Saturday evening, a two-vehicle collision claimed the life of one individual on Highway 178.
The crash took place on the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just west of the Lower Richbar Picnic Area shortly after 8:00 p.m.
For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided in the area. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel pronounced one victim dead at the scene.
Moreover, the surrounding area was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. Further circumstances leading up to the incident are still unclear. However, further details will be posted once available.
