30-Year-Old Man Killed in Wrong-Way Accident near 47th Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (March 22, 2022) – 30-year-old Trevon Burris was killed, and two young children were hurt in a 2-car collision on Baseline Road.
Officers responded to reports of the crash near 47th Avenue and Baseline Road around 4:30 p.m.
Investigators say Burris was driving a sedan west on Baseline Road when he veered to the left into oncoming traffic for reasons unknown. There, the sedan collided with an oncoming eastbound SUV.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, Burris succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the two young passengers inside the sedan to a local hospital after suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash blocked Baseline Road from 45th to 47th avenues while the police investigated the scene. At this time, an active investigation into the deadly wrong-way crash remains underway.
