Teen Killed in Motorcycle Accident near Patricia Lane [Yuma, AZ]
17-Year-Old Rider Dies in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Avenue B
YUMA, AZ (March 15, 2022) – Late Monday afternoon, a motorcycle accident near Patricia Lane took the life of a teenager.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received reports of the collision around 4:23 p.m., at the intersection of Avenue B and Patricia Lane.
Upon initial investigation, crews reported that a 2011 silver Chevy Equinox was heading westbound on Patricia lane. For reasons unknown, the driver failed to yield the right of way to a northbound 2015 black Honda CPR 500 motorcycle upon entering the intersection on Avenue B.
As a result, the rider struck the driver’s rear side of the vehicle. The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle onto the roadway, causing life-threatening injuries.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 17-year-old male from Somerton, died at the crash scene.
Afterward, the driver of the car was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
