Victim Airlifted after Semi-Truck Accident near Basin Road
BAKER, CA (March 11, 2022) – One unidentified person sustained injuries Thursday afternoon, after a big-rig collision on Interstate 15.
The crash happened around 1:35 p.m., on March 3. Crews arrived to the scene on southbound Interstate 15 near Basin and Afton Road.
According to reports, the incident involved two big-rigs; a purple tractor pulling an empty cargo trailer and a white tractor hauling empty moving pods.
The purple tractor rear-ended the white tractor under unclear circumstances. Paramedics then requested a medical helicopter for the purple big-rig driver who sustained injuries.
Eventually, the driver was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in an unknown condition.
Furthermore, the purple big-rig spilled approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway as a result of the collision.
At this time, officials have no further information about the crash, however, an active investigation is ongoing.
