Fresno Woman Arrested after Pursuit Collision near Highway 99
TULARE, CA (March 10, 2022) – Authorities arrested Lacey Emily Gonzalez after a vehicle collision, early Saturday night.
Officers attempted to pullover a stolen vehicle around 7:00 p.m., in the area of Cartmill Avenue and Highway 99. The driver then failed to yield and fled the scene immediately.
According to the police, the suspect drove through several posted stop signs while traveling at a high rate of speed.
Eventually, the pursuit ended after the suspect hit a Tulare patrol vehicle resulting in major damages. Officers later arrested 36-year-old Gonzalez and booked her into Tulare County Jail.
Meanwhile, medics transported her passenger to a local area hospital for further treatment.
In addition, the pursuing officer suffered serious injuries and is now in a stable condition.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since been reopened.
