Driver Arrested after Head-On Collision near Scott Street

PETALUMA, CA (March 10, 2022) – Saturday night, police arrested Adalberto Chavezarias after a head-on crash on North McDowell Boulevard.

According to the authorities, the crash happened around 10:00 p.m., near Scott Street. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Investigators believe that the driver of a northbound vehicle struck a southbound vehicle on North McDowell Boulevard.

The wrong way driver was later identified as 25-year-old Chavezarias, of Rohnert Park. Police arrested and booked him at the Sonoma County Jail for driving under the influence.

Meanwhile, the other involved driver sustained moderate injuries and remained at a local hospital for treatment. At this time, Petaluma Officials continue to investigate the DUI crash.
