Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Accident on Highway 99

SACRAMENTO, CA (March 4, 2022) – Tuesday evening, one pedestrian was pronounced dead after a deadly collision near Mack Road.

Around 9:30 p.m., an unidentified pedestrian was walking along the southbound lanes of the highway near Mack Road.

There, a passing southbound vehicle struck the pedestrian. Upon impact, the involved driver stopped and called 911 for further assistance.

Due to the impact of the collision, the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries before they were later pronounced dead.

The surrounding area was closed off during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.

At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. Although, the deadly crash is still under investigation.
